The Rolling Sun Spectacle

Rolling Sun Phenomenon

6.5 km to the east of Croagh Patrick in the townland of Boheh is a remarkable rock outcrop, decorated with Prehistoric Art which has puzzled man for ages. It has been observed that on April 18th and August 24th the setting sun directly hits the top of Croagh Patrick and instead of setting behind it , 'slides' down along its northern slope in a rolling fashion. This spectacle is remarkable as one stands at the Boheh Stone.
